Jordan Sloan is a Bilingual Literacy Coach with the Renfrew County District School Board, working with educators in both English and FSL programs. After working abroad in schools in Malaysia and Nigeria, Jordan settled in the Ottawa valley and has spent several years teaching Core French at all levels, and primary French Immersion. Jordan is an accredited DELF examiner/scorer and formateur, the President of the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association, the Lead of the CEFR Eastern Region, and has been actively engaged in Board and Ministry initiatives in FSL.

Danielle Hunter has taught French as a Second Language (FSL) in the elementary and secondary panels for over 20 years. Before pursuing her PhD in Language and Literacies on a full-time basis at the University of Toronto/OISE in 2022, Danielle was the FSL, Classical and International Languages Consultant at the Durham District School Board (DDSB) in Ontario, Canada. Danielle has authored multiple pedagogical resources on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Action-oriented Approach, and regularly presents and offers coaching in these areas. In 2021, Danielle was appointed as one of seven international CEFR Consultants for the Council of Europe. In addition, Danielle was part of the provincial writing team for the revised FSL Ontario Curriculum, and is an accredited Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) examiner/scorer. Danielle holds an M.Ed. from the University of Toronto/OISE in Curriculum and Teacher Development. Wendy Chan has taught at various elementary schools throughout the Durham District School Board for over 27 years. Her experiences as an FSL Coach, lead Core French teacher for her District, author, and presenter for various school boards have provided her with the knowledge and leadership abilities to become a lead on this project. Wendy is also on the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association (OMLTA) executive, having been a Board member for over five years. In addition to being a mentor teacher supporting the implementation of the CEFR in her District and across the province, Wendy has been actively involved with various Board and Ministry of Education initiatives for effective teaching, learning, and assessment practices in FSL. Wendy is an author of multiple resources for Core French published by Pearson, and as such, she has a deep understanding of the content, vision and goals of their programs.

​Geoff Collins has taught French as a Second Language (FSL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for over 30 years and in 4 different countries: England, France, Sweden and Canada. Geoff was the FSL, Classical and International Languages Consultant at the Durham District School Board (DDSB) in Ontario, Canada. He has taught at the elementary, secondary and university levels and has authored numerous resources on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Action-oriented Approach. Geoff is also an accredited Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) formateur and has served on the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association (OMLTA) Board of Directors.

Gina Hook has taught FSL in the secondary panel for over 20 years.  Prior to starting her career with the Durham District School Board (DDSB) in Ontario, she studied at the Université de Nantes in France, and completed her Master’s degree in French Literature at the University of Toronto. She is currently Department Head of Modern Languages at a high school in Durham Region where she teaches Core French, French Immersion, and Social Studies in French.  She is also an accredited DELF examiner/scorer, and prepares FSL students to challenge the exam. Gina’s practice is anchored in the CEFR and the Action-oriented Approach (AoA).  Gina has worked on numerous writing teams, developing new action-oriented scenarios for FSL educators.  She is co-author of CASLT’s Action-Oriented Approach Handbook, as well as other pedagogical resources on the CEFR and the AoA. Gina has also presented on the implementation of the AoA in the Canadian context on behalf of the Council of Europe in Lausanne, Switzerland for the launch of the CECR Volume complémentaire.

Kimberly Laderoute-Draper has had an extensive and diverse career in education. She has taught for over 25 years in various schools within the National Capital Region of Canada, covering a wide range of grade levels from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. Her teaching experience includes positions with the Ottawa Carleton School Board District, the Ottawa Catholic School Board, the Commission Scolaire des Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais in the Pontiac region of Quebec, and with the Douglas County School System in the state of Georgia (USA). Kimberly's involvement in the education field goes beyond the classroom. She has presented at conferences such as FLAG (Foreign Language Association of Georgia), SCOLT (Southern Conference on Language Teaching), TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), and has offered workshops for the Georgia Department of Education. Kimberly has worked on numerous collaborative writing projects. Kimberly has pursued advanced degrees to enhance her teaching and instructional skills. She completed her Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Lincoln Memorial University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Leadership from Central Michigan University, and she earned her Bachelor's degree in Pre-School and Elementary teaching from l’Université du Québec en Outaouais.

Maydge has over 20 years of teaching experience, and has developed a profound understanding of pedagogical methodologies, as well as effective second language teaching and learning strategies. She began her career in the French school board, bringing with her a passion for the French language, and a determination to instill a love of French in her students. Maydge has worked as a Curriculum Specialist at TVO (Ontario Educational Television) where she collaborated with digital learning teams to create secondary school content. In addition, as a research assistant for Camerise, she designed instructional plans and educational materials for the purpose of aiding teachers in incorporating the concepts of funds of knowledge and intercultural competence into their programming.  Maydge is also an accredited Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) examiner/scorer.

Josée van Wissen brings a decade of teaching experience across different elementary schools within the Durham Catholic District School Board and within various school districts in London, England. Graduating with a Double Major Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in French Studies and European Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University, she was also the recipient of the Helen G. Mitchell Award from the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association (OMLTA). In addition, her international perspective was enriched by a year of studying at the Université Lumière Lyon 2, in France during her university years. She holds a Master of Arts in European Studies, having earned the prestigious Board of Graduate Studies Scholarship at the University of Guelph. Josée's extensive expertise and passion for History and French have led to her participation in various collaborative writing initiatives.
